Troy Merrit - Soma Lumia, Stage & audio visual design creation

Soma Lumia is a tech-art collective based in Launceston founded in 2015 by James Riggall, Troy Merritt and Darryl Rogers.

Known for its distinctively hybrid media-based arts practice, Soma Lumia investigates the boundary between what is real and what is not, what is authentic and what is counterfeit; it navigates this through questioning the relationship between humans and nature, perception and the illusory, actual and virtual.

Soma Lumia’s work is dedicated to delivering considered (at times playful) and moving experiences that help us understand what it means to be human on this fragile and precious planet.

Soma Lumia’s work has featured regularly at Mona Foma as well as installations for Beaker St Science and Art Festival at Springbay Mill and Franklin House, The South Australian Museum, Murray Bridge Regional Gallery and Walkway Gallery, Bordertown for Illuminate Adelaide.
