TASDANCE IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE MAKE CHOREOGRAPHIC INTENSIVE IS BACK. MAKE WILL CREATE A PLATFORM FOR FOCUSED DANCE MAKERS TO SHARE AND EXPLORE CHOREOGRAPHIC PRACTICE.
We are delighted to welcome Jenni Large back to Tasdance to facilitate this year’s choreographic intensive.
Whether you are a recent graduate, dance teacher, expert dance maker or have a keen interest in the process of choreography MAKE will be the opportunity to enhance, challenge and expand your choreographic practice.
WHAT JENNI WILL BE EXPLORING THROUGHOUT THE WEEK
During the MAKE choreographic intensive, Jenni will lead participants through daily morning classes which invigorate, challenge and utilise the dancers physical potential through a re-imagining of traditional contemporary dance techniques. With a focus on our centre, the floor and releasing and sending. Classes will accumulate methods for accessing sophisticated strength, softness and co-ordination of the whole self.
Afternoon sessions will shift from the specificity of morning classes and move into a shared generative space of improvisation, play and experimentation. With an emphasis on creating using intuition amongst clear structures, we will heighten our awareness of space, self, each other and the unknown to build scores and choreographies both independently and together. We will oscillate between physical practice and communication practice, engaging in critical dialogues around how we perceive, what we perceive and why we are doing what we're doing.
