ADULT CASUAL CLASSES

Tasdance offers weekly classes for adults who want to move on a casual basis and in a fun and inclusive environment!

Classes are available from Tasdance and other movement groups. Please see the timetable below for specific timetable information.


MONDAY

BEGINNER QIGONG TAIJIQUAN: Quiet Pathways to Stillness with Sarus Flow

5:15PM – 6:15PM

$10 per class

Step onto the quiet path and return to the stillness within. This one-hour class introduces the gentle traditions of Qigong and Wudan Taijiquan. Quiet Pathways to Stillness is open to all levels and welcomes anyone seeking health, grounding, vitality, and a more harmonious way of living.

BEGINNER ADULT CONTEMPORARY with REUBEN

6:40PM – 7:40PM / 27 JULY – 28 SEP

$12 per class

In Reuben’s classes, you will be invited into guided improvisations, contemporary technique development, and phrases. There is always a check-in and options to tailor the movement to your skill level or any injuries.

Reuben is a dancer and choreographer with particular interests in improvisation and youth dance. They are a member the Youth Dance Makers Initiative Advisory Committee and the Youth Dance Australia Committee. Reuben earned a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Dance) with Distinction from Deakin University.

BEGINNER ADULT BALLET WITH SARAH

7:30PM – 8:30PM / 6 AUG – 1 OCT

$12 PER CLASS

MID-TERM BREAK: NO CLASS ON SEPTEMBER 17TH

TAI CHI with Dr Nicholas Beasley

6:45AM — 7:30AM

Invitation only — this class is for students who have been practicing Tai Chi for a while. Please see the beginners class on Monday you are new to this practice.

Dr Nicholas Beasley of @wujimedicine is generously offering free community Tai Chi classes at Assembly 197 every Friday.

TAI CHI — Taijiquan (Tai Chi) is a traditional Chinese martial art characterised by relaxed, circular movements that work in concert with breath regulation and the cultivation of a righteous, calm and neutral mind.
