BE PART OF DANCE MASSIVE 2019. 
CALL OUT FOR VOLUNTEERS - DANCERS
Seeking 400 Victorian dancers of all ages to be the heart and soul of an epic outdoor performance with Chunky Move, Tasdance and Yellow Wheel

As one of the 400, you will:

• Be a vital part of an incredible, mass outdoor performance

• Meet and dance with new people

• Work with professional choreographers from Chunky Move, Tasdance and Yellow Wheel

• Be at least 8 years old (please note there is no maximum age!)

 What’s involved:

• Learning, rehearsing and performing simple dance movements and sequences as part of a 10-minute choreography

• Working as part of a team

 Commitment (see registration form for further details):

• 7 x three-hour rehearsals on either Saturdays or Sundays – mornings or afternoons – in February and March 2019 at various locations (TBC)

• Dress rehearsal Saturday 23 March (location TBC)

• Performance Sunday 24 March (location TBC)

Secondment Opportunity

Tasdance is offering secondment places over a two week period starting January 7th until January 19th. The Tasdance Artists and local Launceston Bhutanese community will be in the final stages of producing their new work Yatra as part of Mona Foma 2019.

We are looking for recent graduates or students currently studying tertiary dance who have a particular interest in working in cross-cultural and community practices.

We are delighted to offer the following:

2 places available week 1 - January 7th-11th

2 places available week 2 - January 14th-19th

Secondees will have the chance to do class with the company each morning, partake in rehearsals, connect with the 2019 Tasdance Artists, spend time with the Artistic Director and gain experience in working in a professional company.

FUTURE - Youth Extension Program

Led by Tasdance and Stompin's Artistic Directors, Adam Wheeler & Caitlin Comerford. FUTURE is your chance to further develop your contemporary dance skills in a range of techniques, improvisation and choreography. 

The workshops will be guided in a non competitive environment with a key focus to prepare you for further training in dance and put you on the right path for a wholesome career in the dance industry.

YATRA at MONA FOMA

Join us on a Yatra (Journey) as Tasdance and the local Launceston Bhutanese community seek the definition of place and home through stories of living and growing up in refugee camps to resettlement on the Apple Isle.  In partnership with the Migrant Resource Centre Northern Tasmania this immersive performance experience uses dance, live music, storytelling and digital moving image to give voice to our newest residents’
