Residencies
Tasdance understands that every school is different and flexibility is important. Our full-ensemble residencies are the perfect way for us to reach all of your students and to develop vibrant and curriculum-relevant performance outcomes. With 5-6 dancers, we can tailor our residencies to the individual needs of the school and student groups we work with. Residencies can range in length from a two days to a week. Some of the areas we focus on are:
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Special needs
- Teacher professional learning
- Or, we can customize a residence to your needs including theme relevant to students’ other learning areas

Learning Through Dance (formerly MEDAL)
Learning Through Dance is a long-term cross-curricular residency program, developed in view of the STEAM philosophy (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics). Tailored for a primary school setting, Tasdance will harness your students’ creativity to develop literacy and numeracy through dance. For a minimum of 2.5 hours per week, one of Tasdance’s professional dance educators takes up residency for one to four terms, working with students on an ongoing basis.
We recommend 2 sessions of 2.5 hours per week as optimal.
Cost: $157 per 2.5 hour session
Minimum commitment: one school term
Teacher professional learning
Teacher professional learning can be incorporated into any of the offerings above, or as a stand-alone residency or workshop.
Tasdance is also considering holding an in-house teacher professional learning workshop, proposed date, on 12th May 2017. The program will go ahead based on teacher interest.
Cost: $250
Tasdance has limited spaces available in 2017, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
