The present extinction rate is 10,000 times greater than it was prior to the appearance of man. Four species fall extinct every minute solely due to human destruction. X-tinct, the latest TasDance innovation asks why? X-tinct the student performed production in 2002, posed difficult questions for an environment under threat, and which ultimately offers hope for the future.
In the tradition of excellence as set by past student performed productions such as Fish Fingers and Generations, 18 of the state's most promising dancers were selected for this inspired touring production.
In our 21st Birthday year, TasDance continues to nurture emerging talent through out the state. 2002 is also the year of bio-diversity and as we come of age as a company, we recognise the importance of preserving what is unique, rare and often at risk, in a fragile environment. Choreographed by Trisha Dunn and Catherine Freeman together with this vivacious and energetic young company, X-tinct toured to Launceston, Ulverstone and Hobart.
