"Take a bow Tasdance. Your production of TEASE was first class, and a milestone"
Alison Andrews, The Examiner, December 16, 1997
"The trick about circus acts is to make the things look impossible – for us in the audience, but a piece of cake for the performers. TEASE does just that."
Martin Ball, The Australian, December 11, 1997
TEASE was a dynamic collaboration between Tasdance and Tony's Imaginary Circus, a contemporary circus troupe based in Queensland.
This collaboration created a unique opportunity to explore the fusion of two physical theatre forms: dance and circus. It allowed the performers to redefine their physical language and extend the boundaries of both art forms. The production TEASE was highly physical and explored comedy and slap stick, and integrated dance, circus and music.
It created excitement, made you laugh, gasp, wonder and, above all was entertaining. The sheer breathless physicality of TEASE, from precision tightrope walking to bootscootin' cowboys, showed the potential flexibility and endless limitations of such a collaboration.
