Robert Flehr

An independent and Collaborative Artist with an avid interest in folk lore and ritual dance, Robert has Choreographed for the Nelipot collective in Hobart in 2016 and performed with Tasdance for the first time in Hal’cyon as part of Dark Mofo 2016.

Robert Studied at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) doing Bachelor of Fine Arts/ Dance performance working with industry professionals Csaba Buday, Tracey Carradace, Richard Causer, Rhiannon Mclean, Elise May and Graeme Murphy.

Invited to perform in Launch Pad, 2012, by Expressions Dance Company (choreographed By Gareth Belling) Robert was also fortunate to tour internationally to Taiwan and Beijing with works by Csaba Buday and Jane Pirani as part of the International Festival of Dance 2012 and perform in the Brisbane Festival 2012.
Robert has danced professionally since 2012 with companies such as the Aboriginal Centre of Performing Arts and OUTCAST Performing Arts Company in Brisbane, doing additional training in Classical voice, Physical theatre and aerial apparatus.

From 2014 Robert has worked with Independent Artist Liesel Zink, performing The Stance as part of Dance Massive (2015), Slipstream Festival (2015), Asian Pacific Arts Market (2016) and Liveworks Festival of Experimental Art (2016). Working also as Rehersal Director for the re-mount of the work with Mature Artists Dance Experience (MADE) as part of Junction Arts Festival (2016) and Salamanca Moves (2016).
