These projects aim to provide students with experiences of choreographic development, rehearsal processes, performances and touring. The experience is heightened by the fact they tour with the talented TasDance company.
Workshops were offered to schools statewide to allow involvement by all Year 9 and 10 students enrolled in TCE Dance. There were four auditions that followed in Launceston, Hobart, Devonport and St Helens and twenty two students were selected from all parts in the state.
Those selected have had a series of creative development workshops followed by a very intensive weekend refining the works. The TasDance company members have worked with these selected students on the creation of three separate pieces exploring the year 2000, emergencies, cries for help and heroism. Also included is a work created by Rehearsal Director Terrie-Ann John and performed by the TasDance company.
