Passion Fruit marked a whole new beginning for TasDance in 1997 as it was the first program developed under the Artistic Direction of Annie Greig. The 1997 season was so well received by our regional audiences throughout Tasmania, it was remounted again in 1999 to tour interstate to Geelong and Canberra.
Passion Fruit combined the passion of many talented choreographers, dance artists, and designers who worked together to create an exciting program, each of the works in Passion Fruit explored human emotion and relationships from a stylistically different approach.
The selection of choreographers contributed significantly to the shape of the program. Paul Mercurio and Julia Cotton created two delicious works, oozing with passion.
A-peeling, a sensual delight was created in collaboration between company members Wendy Mc Phee, Michael O'Donoghue and Jay Watson. All three works are a valuable asset to the company repertoire.
