Since graduating from QUT with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) 2008 and completing her QUT Honours Degree 2009 at Expressions Dance Company (researching communication through everyday body language and contemporary dance), Liesel has performed with Tasdance, Phluxus2 and for independent choreographers Nerida Matthaei, Zaimon Vilmanis, Jay Baily, and Elise May.  Liesel has also worked with choreographers Sarah-Jayne Howard, Natalie Weir, Shaaron Boughen, and Csaba Buday.

Intrigued by the honest and relatable nature of human behaviour, Liesel has choreographed numerous performed in QLD, NSW and on screen. In 2010 Liesel was commissioned to choreograph It fell on the floor between them for Expressions Dance Company's 'Launch Pad' season; she received an Ausdance QLD Brisbane Front Residency for the choreography and performance of lived at 51 Rusden St and is a recipient of the Australian Council ArtStart Grant.

Liesel's choreography extends beyond the contemporary dance genre, working on film clips, advertisements, multi media performances and the interactive drama production Room 328.  She also works extensively with people living with disadvantages, choreographing on Blue Roo Theatre Company for their performance of The Sugar Cane Ball 2010.  In 2011, Liesel has been invited to be an associate artist of La Boite Theatre Company.
