Graduating with a BA in Dance (VCA), Jay's engagement as a dancer, choreographer and teacher with Tasdance was established in 1997. A performer in 13 seasons, choreographer and co-choreographer in four Education Projects, extensive company employment teaching in over 60 schools, in addition to numerous contracts with both the Education Department and Disability Sector state-wide places Jay as an artist of considerable repute. He has created several contemporary dance works for various festivals: Awakening Festival (Horsham Vic), Opening Ceremony (2000 Special Olympics), Amalgamations Festival, Hobart Fringe, Festivale, International Womans Festival and most recently, with the assistance of Access Arts Link, a commissioned dance film: Body Space launched as part of Junction 2010 Streets Alive Festival. For the past 9 years Jay has provided students of all levels and ages with an exceptional experience in the art of contemporary dance; continuing to impart a unique and passionate approach to self expression through movement.
