"It's often wild, and at times very cleverly insightful, but always infectious with it's enthusiasm"

Once again in 2001, Tasdance demonstrated it's commitment to providing meaningful arts experiences for young people. Following the Generations workshops held at their school, 15 year 9 and 10 students demonstrating outstanding commitment to, and potential for dance, were selected to participate in an intensive creative development period that led to public performances of the work throughout the state.
In the landmark year of Centenary of Federations, Generations focused on that which makes us unique to our generation. Where we come from? Where are we heading? Are we a blue print of what has been before? A celebration through movement, memories, dance and dreams Generations showcased the remarkable talent of the generation of the future, and highlighted our national and historic identity through the role of dance culture over the last one hundred years.
Also in 2001, for the first time, Tasdance worked in collaboration with film students from Launceston's TAFE to produce stunning and educational documentary footage. The footage, taken at locations in and around Launceston, gave a heightened three dimensional quality to this vibrant work. An inspirational multimedia event, Generations was an explosive and dynamic work.
