Once she completed her BA in Dance Performance and Education at the Victorian College of the Arts in 1985, Carol performed with companies 2 Dance Plus (now Buzz Dance Theatre) Chrissie Parrott Dance Collective, Dance North and a cameo as Cinderella’s mother for WA Ballet (her closest brush with motherhood so far). From 1992 – 1999 her curiosity took her to Europe via USA where she performed, choreographed, taught and lived at ten different addresses, not including touring, in seven countries, in seven years. Upon her return Carol freelanced working as rehearsal director for Thawack! and Tasdance before eight years employed as Assistant Director for Australian Dance Theatre until 2008. Carol’s homing beacon keeps drawing her back to Tassie and following the remount and tour of Divine Harmonies (with a notable appearance as a 6 foot “veritable goddess” tree woman) in 2007, she is back again as Rehearsal Director and birthing partner for two wonderful choreographers and their creations, for the latest season of Parenthesis.
