Completing an Associate Degree in Dance at QUT and achieving her BA in Dance Performance from AC Arts, Carlie graduated with Distinctions in all subjects and the Merit Certificate in 2003. Since then Carlie has worked with Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) and many South Australian Choreographers, including, Naida Chinner, Mia Mason, Kelly Alexander, Alison Currie and Gavin Clarke. Other notable choreographers Carlie has worked with include; Solon Ulbrich, Gavin Webber, Sue Peacock, Csubba Budday and John Utans.

In 2004 Carlie joined ADT for their Ignition Season before joining them as a trainee full time. Her first project with ADT was the second development and performance season of "Nothing". Following this season, Carlie understudied Garry Stewart's internationally acclaimed pieces, "The Age of Unbeauty", "Birdbrain" and "Held". "Held" toured to the Sydney Opera House and the annual Helpmann Awards in Sydney. In Addition she has performed for SA's Choreolab, Adelaide International Film Festival, Dance on Screen and the Adelaide Fringe Festival. A chance to work as a movement director for Punks Palace under the Artistic Direction of Marcus Graham further developed her experience and interest in Dance Theatre.

As well as being a recognised Dancer she is a well respected Teacher. Carlie has been involved in Choreographing for many school programmes and youth groups.

Currently Carlie works as part of The Casio Brothers and is heavily involved in creating dance movement, writing music and lyrics and, in addition, developing the concept and image of the group. Simultaneously Carlie continues her involvement in Contemporary Dance and is working on "The House Project" with Alison Currie and "Knocked Conscious" with Mia Mason.
